Chemistry: ¨Science that studies the composition, properties, and transformations of matter. The field of chemistry is structured into four areas:

• Organic Chemistry: studies the composition, properties, and transformations of substances that contain the element carbon with the exception of carbonates and carbon oxides
• Analytical Chemistry: studies the qualitative and quantitative determination of the matter. 
• Physical Chemistry: studies the relationship between matter and energy, that is, the patterns of behavior of the chemical reactions depending on the physical and chemical properties of substances. 
• Biochemistry: studies the structure and transformations of matter in living organisms.
